EQUESTRIAN CENTRE

AC Equestrian offers full service livery for up to 28 horses and is situated at Goldcombe Farm, just below Hardy’s Monument. The Farm is a family business and over the last year there has been significant investment in both the buildings and the land. There are lots of exciting changes planned for the future too – planning agreement permitting. These include an indoor arena and viewing gallery, a horse walker, a new surface for the outdoor school and a lunge pen. Please watch this space! However impressive the location and facilities, AC Equestrian’s top priority is ensuring the health and happiness of all the residents whatever their age or level of activity. All aspects of care are discussed with the Yard Manager, Rachel and the experienced team takes a proactive role in ensuring a very high standard of care is maintained across the board.

ARENA

The Arena is 40m x 60m and has a sand/ rubber surface. A full set of jumps is available to use and there is a covered viewing area for teaching purposes. The Arena is regularly maintained.

INDIVIDUAL TURN OUT

All of the horses at AC, unless otherwise requested, are turned out in individual paddocks that are fully fenced, electrified and have their own access. Paddocks are rotated on approximately 6 week schedule, depending on the weather.

MILES OF HACKING

Liveries can hack around the farm’s large fields before exploring further afield using the network of bridleways that criss-cross this area of outstanding natural beauty.

Does this look like fun? Check out our accomodations.

MODERN STABLES

All the old stables at AC have recently been refurbished and we have built 6 brand new. All are light, bright and roomy.

HOT WASHES & SOLARIUM

We have both and indoor and outdoor gas fired hot wash areas – essential! We are just in the process of installing a solarium which will be fully operational by the end of the year (2023)

SECURE TACK ROOMS, HEATED RUG ROOMS & STORAGE

There are currently 2 alarmed tack rooms. However a new, large tack room is nearly complete and once it is this will replace the 2 smaller rooms which need some more TLC. The new tack room is alarmed and heated and has a custom made saddle rack running the full length of the room. No excuse for dirty tack! Newly built and essential for the winter weather (and summer sometimes too!). Large enough to accommodate rugs for up to 28 horses. Each livery is allocated a large storage ‘cube’ in the alarmed storage room which is right next door to the new tack room.

FEED

Each horse has their own menu devised and overseen by Rachel. The menus change throughout the year depending on a number of different factors including weather, level of activity and condition. This is one of AC Equestrians USP’s and Rachel’s magic mash has quite a reputation for working wonders…!

Chelsea

Chelsea originally joined AC Equestrian as a livery in 2020 with her horse, Buttons. She very quickly became a valued member of the team due to her compassion and care for all of the horses and is a great asset to the yard. Chelsea’s riding background is in endurance so she has thoroughly enjoyed developing her flatwork and jumping over her time as part of the AC Team.

Zoe

Zoe has been part of the team since the beginning of 2022. Having known and worked with Rachel for many years she was a natural addition to the team. Zoe has ridden many horses over the years but her passion lies with eventing. She has recently taken on a new horse, Billy - a talented show jumper - on loan and she is looking forward to taking him out to clinics and competitions. Zoe has her BHS stage 3 ride and is looking forward to completing the care section.

Maddie

Maddie became part of Team AC in early 2023 as both a livery and a member of staff. She has owned her horse, Percy since he was a four year old and now enjoys riding him him. He is a talented all rounder as a result of all of the work she has put in. Maddie is looking forward to starting her BHS qualifications, alongside competing Percy and attending clinics.
